The Auditor-General Lagos State, Mrs. H. M. Deile and Accountant-General, Lagos State, Dr. Muritala Abiodun Sefiu, have signed the year 2020 Lagos State Government Audited Financial Statements.
Speaking at the brief signing ceremony held at the Conference Room, Office of the State Auditor-General in Alausa, Secretariat, Ikeja, Mrs. Deile said the timely submission of the year 2020 financial statements shows that Lagos State will always be at the forefront in every facet of life while others follow, especially in the area of standard financial records and documentation.
According to her, prompt provision of the financial statement and availability on the Lagos State website would ensure that stakeholders, interested citizens and International Organisations have easy access to the financial statements of Lagos State.
On his part, the State Accountant-General, Dr. Muritala Abiodun Sefiu, expressed delight at the timely submission and signing of the year 2020 Audited Financial Statements of Lagos State, adding that the act will encourage other States in the Federation to follow a similar step for necessary accountability.
He commended the efforts of the Financial Statements team members for a job well-done as well as the timely submission of the year 2020 audited statements.
